Based in Japan, Michiko Fujita is one of the world’s few professional English handbell artist.
With her distinctive interpretation, she performs a wide range of repertoire—from classical masterpieces to popular songs—captivating audiences across eras and cultures. 

She studied music theory under composer and pianist Koki Tajiri, whose influence has shaped her refined artistry. Her musical expression has gained international acclaim: she was a finalist in the Folk Instrument Division of the 25th and 26th Osaka International Music Competition, and in 2025 received the Gold Prize and Excellent Creativity Special Award in the Debussy International Music Competition (Percussion – Professional Division). 

In the same year, she also won 2nd Place (Group L, Percussion Division) at the American International Music Competition 2025, and the Gold Prize in the Percussion Professional Division at the Virtuoso International Music Award 2025, solidifying her reputation as an internationally recognized artist.
